Beaches/Surfing There are many beaches to explore in the Tofino area. Mackenzie Beach is a short walk from Cobble Wood Guest House and Bird Sanctuary Inn. Chesterman Beach is only a little further south, and is 3km long. Both beaches are rich with exploring potential. There are tidepools, crevices, rocks and maybe even a cave to explore (depending on the tide). Long Beach is a 10 minute drive south of Cobble Wood and Bird Sanctuary Guesthouses, and located in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. It is miles long, with great year-round surfing potential . There are places nearby where you can rent wetsuits and a surfboard, body board or skimboard and take a surfing lesson. When you arrive at Cobble Wood Guest House and Bird Sanctuary House & Suites, there will be map of the area for you to take to explore all the beaches in the area. |

Fishing Both Tofino and Ucluelet boast great salmon and halibut fishing. There are many guides in Tofino and Ucluelet that can take you to the best fishing grounds. It is best to book your fishing guide in advance to guarantee a good guide and availability. |

Tours There are hiking, kayaking, whale watching, sight seeing, bear watching and Hot Springs tours out of Tofino. You can partake in any of these tours either by boat or float plane. These are exhilirating adventures that will leave you with unforgettable memories of the West Coast of Vancouver Island. These can usually be booked after your arrival in Tofino. |

Biking Biking is a popular form of transportation in Tofino. It is a great way to explore the beaches and town. Cobble Wood Guest House and Bird Sanctuary Inn are located near the multi-pupose path, which takes you to Tofino and the Tofino Botanical Gardens in one direction or to a number of the beaches in the other direction. Bike rentals are available close by if required. |

Hiking Pacific Rim National Park Reserve has many short hiking trails as well as challenging trails. You might also consider taking a water taxi over to Meares Island or Flores Island and hiking one of the trails there. Ucluelet has also created a great hiking trail called the "Wild Pacific Trail". |

Golfing Long Beach's 9 hole golf course can challenge you for an afternoon's pleasure. It is located in Pacific Rim National Park . It has recently added a mini-golf course. |

Tofino boasts many fine restaurants, and Cobble Wood Guest House and Bird Sanctuary House & Suites are located within walking distance to great beachfront fine dining, casual fresh dining in Tofino's Botanical Gardens and one of the local Fish & Chips stand. |

Art Galleries The West Coast boasts many talented artists. There are a number of galleries in Tofino and Ucluelet. There are also educational films shown at the Wickinninish Interpretive Centre in Pacific Rim National Park which makes for a great educational family adventure. Many
different birds visit Tofino each year. It is a destination point for
many birds, especially the sand pipers on migration. Cobble Wood Guest
House and Bird Sanctuary Inn are close to the bird sanctuary flats along Clayoquot Sound. |
